Dr HJ Visser 

Dr Visser lectured at numerous International and National Dental Congresses, Study Group Meetings and SADA Branch Meetings during 2004 and 2005 and he published a number of articles including a peer review article published in the SADJ, February 2005 on Fibre Reinforced Composite Restorations.  He also trained more than 450 dentists on hands-on courses, throughout South Africa, in the different applications of fibre reinforcement for  composite restorations during 2004 and 2005.

• Klaas Visser was born in Potchefstroom and grew up in Pretoria, South Africa.

• He obtained a B.Ch.D at the University of Pretoria in 1980.

• He was awarded with the Surgeon Generals’ Award for exceptional service in 1982 during compulsory military training   

• He then joined the Mines Benefit Society 1982

• From 1987 he was put in charge of the Virginia Dental Clinic providing dental services to some 35,000 patients with a team of five dentists.
• He obtained a B.Ch.D (Hons) degree at the University in Pretoria in 1987.
• In 1991 he left the Free State and started a private practice in Kleinmond. 
• His sporting achievements include representing a provincial team (Northern Free State) for nine years running at the SA National Badminton Championships. 
• He also served as chairman of the Northern Free State Badminton Association for four years. 
• Since 1999 he served on the SA National Junior Badminton Committee, and was elected as Chairman in 2005.
